Millions of Americans walk outside their living quarters every morning only to be greeted by an icy punch from Mother Nature herself. Winter is still here, and the groundhog may be right this time. The United States has seen a recent, prolonged, and unprecedented cold front spread across the country, and the state of Georgia is no exception. As of the time I am writing this, wind speeds are up to thirty miles per hour, making days frigid and fierce. A month after one of the worst bouts of snow and ice the Peach State has seen in years, the cold remains supreme. This constitutes a perfect excuse to go warm yourself up with a warm drink. Why not try the coffee shop I will recommend to you today? Bizarre Coffee.

Built within the heart of Downtown Woodstock, Bizarre Coffee is known for its unique construct and familiarity to locals of North Georgia. It is a quaint little establishment that is nestled behind rows of buildings. Not only does it have rich flavors and varieties of coffee, it also has a rich (and recent) history. Bizarre was founded in 2020 during the pandemic by Sabrina Kaylor, a talented artist and digital marketer that hails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Kaylor, inspired by her passion for creating her own, unique art styles, paired her vibrance with her love for coffee. Even she had to start somewhere, and got her big break when her and her husband started selling their products at local farmer’s markets in Canton, Georgia. Here, she was able to demonstrate her unique selling proposition and since then, the brand has exploded onto the coffee scene. Kaylor is all about positivity, originally selling her product titled “Good Mood Juice” and having her staff’s nomenclature represented as “Daymakers” (how can I make your day?), so this positive vibe is felt every time you enter their shop.
Bizarre is a favorite around Kennesaw State University, and since their opening, have intrigued countless students wanting to try something new. Their seasonal menus are especially popular, with pumpkin and apple flavors being paired with their delicious brews. I personally went there for their lattes and iced coffees, and both times I went, they were absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is small, comfortable, and familiar, where someone could sit down to do some work, go on a coffee date with another, or even catch up with a friend or loved one. The best thing about it too, is the Noonday Park trail is located nearby, where it is perfect to grab a coffee and walk to see the beautiful backwoods of North Georgia if you didn’t want to stay inside. I have done this before, and it is a great pairing. There are also many other shops and restaurants to explore close to the establishment.
For tourists coming in from I-75 or meandering through these little towns, Bizarre is a great place to stop for coffee enthusiasts. Bizarre also has a roastery located nearby, so you are guaranteed that each time you stop in, the beans are freshly grown and brewed. From farmer’s market to the hand of the customer, there is so much to enjoy when visiting Kaylor’s vision, and every time you take a sip, you’ll be happy with how determined she was to bring her artistic vision to life.
